Floor heating foil is a practical accessory for electric underfloor heating projects, often used together with insulation boards and heating cables. Its main job is to spread heat evenly across the floor.   Heating cables produce line-shaped heat. Without floor heating foil, heat will only concentrate right above the wires, creating hot strips and cold zones. Aluminum foil has excellent thermal conductivity. It diffuses heat horizontally, forming a uniform warm floor surface and preventing local overheating that can damage laminate, wood or vinyl flooring.Besides heat distribution, good floor heating foil also serves as a moisture barrier. It stops underground moisture from penetrating upward, protecting your floor covering against warping and mould.   Quick Installation Tips 1.Lay foil flat on top of insulation boards. 2.Overlap seams and seal with tape to prevent heat & moisture leakage. 3.It works for dry underfloor heating systems.   Important reminder: Floor heating foil is NOT insulation material. It cannot replace XPS insulation boards. Insulation blocks downward heat loss, while foil spreads heat upward.   When building your underfloor heating system, pairing heating cables, insulation boards and floor heating foil is the best way to get stable warmth and reduce energy waste.
